A bite of tradition, straight from Argentina

The story of the alfajor begins centuries ago. Its name comes from the Arabic word al-hasú (“filled”).

When the Moors brought it to Spain, it became a beloved sweet, and later, during the Spanish conquest of Latin America, it crossed the ocean and found a new home: Argentina.

Shaped by generations, this recipe has slowly evolved into its perfect form.

Once in Argentina, the recipe evolved into something truly unique. Instead of honey and nuts, common ingredients in the Arabic world; it was adapted with local flavors.

In later generations, a local creation was added: creamy dulce de leche. We filled the alfajores with this sweet treat and gave them a delicate twist with cornstarch cookies

From Argentina to the Netherlands! A sweet connection.

Did you know that Queen Máxima of the Netherlands was born in Argentina?

Just like her, one of the country’s sweetest traditions has also crossed the ocean: the alfajor de maicena.

it’s a classic of every Argentinian celebration. In fact, Queen Máxima herself once made alfajores de maicena for her own birthday!

Ready to try them?

When you bite into a maicena alfajor, the soft and delicate cookies crumble easily, almost dissolving in your mouth.

The creamy dulce de leche filling adds a rich, caramel sweetness that contrasts with the light, buttery texture of the cookie.

Coconut flakes provide a slight chew and a subtle flavor, adding an extra layer of texture to each bite.

You can’t miss it!
